Rome lodging question- flying in, training out in the morning
We will be flying into Rome (Fumicino) and arriving late afternoon (from the Middle East- so not a jet lag issue). In the morning we'll be heading for Positano starting by train (I'm doing a separate post with those questions!).
1. We've both seen 'the big stuff' in other trips. DH would like to have a relaxing evening where we can roam around (safe area of course) and take in some good food. 2. I'm thinking somewhere where it won't be a headache to get to the train station in the morning. I'd like to find a small pension or B&B- but I need a clue about what area would make sense. I'd appreciate suggestions on an area and/or lodging. Thanks!! |
I stayed here recently and liked it very much:

Thanks Mme Perdu - looks nice and exactly what I needed!

We recently did the same thing as you--flew in one day and took the train the next day. We were able to take the Leonardo Express from FCO to Termini station and we stayed at a nearby hotel, the Aberdeen Hotel. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable and the staff was outstanding.

For our quick overnights in Rome we use either Hotel Contila or Sonya within a couple blocks of Termini. A bit more commercial and busy but some nice local restaurants. Can easily walk to some of the sites.

We recently stayed at the Welcome Piram Hotel ( http://www.welcomepiramhotel.com) which is a short walk from the Termini. The accommodations were great, easy to get to other parts of the city by bus if you wish or walk to restaurants in the area.

Beware of klose1978 (earlier post)... He's posted the same comment to about 20 Italy-related threads today.

Marco, you are sending this same response on all Rome posts. You are obviously a business of some sort.
