OK Paristhrice, i have just returned from 4 days in rome in October which is supposed to be the best time of the year to go. It rained for 2 days and was sunny for the other 2. Now i have to say that not many people go to rome for the weather. (except to avoid august as everything closes down) Go HAIL RAIN OR SNOW. its a wonderful place and if its cold, spend a day in a museum or shopping or eating in a wonderful little restaurant, and after a few glasses of wine, you wont care. Its a beautiful, cultural city with so much to do, and i have been to paris myself 3 times. but for me Rome is heaven. Please Please dont let the weather put you off.

just another little note, people have been posting weather reports about rome like you were heading off to antartica. for god sake, chill out (excuse the pun) and enjoy this historical city. i apologise if i offended anyone but this is ROME. So what if its cold, wear a hat.

Hi all - thanks for all your posts. I think a bad day of travel is better than a good day at home. I live in upstate NY, so we know what cold is. I usually travel with whiny crybabies (the adult variety), so was looking to prepare them. We were in Paris last February when they got 4 inches of snow - I was delighted but the whiny crybabies are still moaning about it. I guess I just need new traveling companions!! Thanks again -

This year in Rome there was snow on February. But usually weather is mild (41-55 F) even if cloudy and rainy

Thanks. I am sure that that is really relevant 5 years later

I'm sure that someone will be thinking about a trip in february in 2011, 2012, 2013 and so on and informations are useful. The title of thi forum is : "Rome in February", not "Rome in February 2006" or 2007 . Thanks for your reply, not 5 years, but 5 minutes later
