Rome in February-Opinions?
 

I am just wondering what the weather is typically like in Rome in February. Also, might I assume that the regions around Rome would have similar weather? Experiences appreciated. Thanks.

Try this site. I was there in mid march and never felt that it was too cold. I remember it being very pleasant.

Last February the weather was perfect...my friends were there for two weeks with no rain and very pleasant temps...we were there at the end of March and it was almost 80, we wore no coats the whole week...that said, last year was an odd year. IMO...Rome is good anytime with any weather!

Weather, of course, is difficult to predict, but when we were in Rome for a week in February 2002 it was sunny and warm enough that we didn't need our coats during the day (although, strangely, we kept noticing that the Romans tended to be dressed much more warmly than we Alabamians).

We are going back to Rome and to Amalfi area in February 2004, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for similar good weather!

My family and I were in Rome, Florence and Venice in Feb. 2003. We needed scarfs and gloves until about 11 AM but later in the day we were able to open our coats. It was sunny during the day and quite pleasant to walk around enjoying the sites. Many places were not crowded and we thought it was perfect weather to be tourists.

We were also in Rome, Florence and Venice last February. It was chilly, but with coat, and gloves we were fine. It was definitely warmer than home (NY). It did not rain and we had no issues about being outside walking around.
