Rome Hotels Location
We are staying at two different hotels in Rome. Can anyone give me a sense of how far apart they are and metro connections to go from one to another. First one is Hotel American, Via Laurentina 554. The 2nd one is Hotel Nardizzi Americana, Via Firenze 38.

Post their websites.

Why are you staying at two different hotels?
|
You can probably find them on a map (I think mapquest and yahoo! maps have international features) and then look at a Metro map in conjunction once you find the locations.

Why 2 hotels?
Looks like Hotel American is far away from center. Nardizzi is closer in. |
We are going a few days prior to the start of our tour which has us staying with the rest of the participants at the second hotel. The first one was the one we needed to stay at to get a better airline deal. I am working with my travel agent to get the first one changed. Wish me luck. In hindsight a bad way to save money, but hopefully that can be rectified. I thought too that the Hotel American looked a long ways from center!!! Thanks. Will look to see what directions I can get from the internet.

Yikes! Hotel American is out in EUR on a busy three-lanes-in-each-direction street. Closest metro: Laurentina.
Hotel Nardizzi Americana is at the corner of via XX Septembre and via Firenze, which is the corner that comes between San Carlino in Quattro Fontane and and the corner for Bernini's St Teresa. Closest metro: Repubblica. This location is reasonable--it is magnificent compared to the other. Your experience with this "bargain" hotel is precisely why we always warn people: If booking a tour or air/hotel package, check hotel locations carefully. The least expensive hotels are often in poor locations. |
