Rome hotels
 

We are staying in Rome 2 nights the third week in Sep. We are currently booked at the Westin Excelsior. We have stayed here before and do like it, however we thought we might try a different hotel, something close to the Spanish Steps. Any suggestions? What about The Duke? This has been suggested. How does it compare to the Excelsior? Thank you,

You are way above most people's price range on this board!How about the Hassler-good enough for most of the movie stars and very close to the Spanish Steps.

The Excelsior is a 5 star luxury hotel, the Duke is 4 star. Looking at Google maps the Duke is north of Villa Borghese. It's a fair hack from the Spanish Steps. What about the Hotel De Russie - http://www.hotelderussie.it.

i did not stay here, but you can check out http://www.berninibristol.com , i am heading to Roma in Oct for a few days , so i have been doing research myself.
