Rome Hotels

Need a decent but reasonable priced hotel near main train station in Rome...Any recommendations...must be clean, have an elevator that works! Need not be fancy, but hospitable for 60+ age group.

See www.venere.com and click on Rome or see www.eurocheapo.com

And you'll get better advice here if you define a specific price range.

Many would say that under 200 euro per night (per double room) is a "reasonable" priced hotel. You may mean quite a bit lower than that.

Best wishes,

Rex

Not sure when you are going as far as rates are concerned, but try the Hotel Raffaello. We did not want to stay in that area, but the hotel looks great and has good reviews. When we called, the people we spoke to were helpful and pleasant.

My friend & i stayed near the Termini in February this year and found that there is a lot of decent affordable hotels in this area.We stayed at the "Hotel Lazio" on Via Vicenza ...this was clean & the saff were friendly & the lift worked!! :)it was on a little road just across from the Termini and 2 minutes walk from where the buses from Ciampino airport drop-off which was brilliant for us :)Many hotels in this area are cheaper than the more central Rome hotels, but we found it a good base for public transport as the buses, metro station, trams and the railway are all nearby Hope this helps you and enjoy your trip X em ;)

I stayed at The Empire Palace Hotel near the Train Station and it was wonderful. I highly recommend it.

How about the Hotel Des Artistes. 5 blocks away, very easy to find and it has a lift. We found it very convienient.

I've stayed in the Hotel Canada (a Best Western). http://www.bestwestern.it/BW/EN/98058_hotel_Rome

Recommended it to a friend who visits Rome every year and now she stays there, too.
