Rome Hotel/Apartment

I have been searching and reading about where to stay in Rome. We have a group of 5, maybe 6, ladies ranging in age from 35-70 who would like to stay convenient to Vatican City. We arrive late November and are trying to stay in a 200 euro per night range. I am considering Best Western Spring House, Hotel Panda, Blue Rose B&B and have emailed sleepinitaly.com. Any comments or suggestions? This is our first trip to Italy.

Is that a per person budget or a per room. If per room, how many people per room?

Well, if uptowngirl meant per person, they can do very well for 1000 to 1200 euro per night for a nice large place.
If it's an apartment sleeping 6 for 200 a night it will be more difficult, but I think not impossible.

There area also some comments about these hotels on tripadvisor. I think the Best Western is closest to the Vatican. They all appear to be in different neighborhoods.

Hello again,
Yes, I am trying to accomplish the difficult. Either an apartment for 5 or a double and triple for a total of 200 euro per night.

If you mean about $40/night per person, maybe you should consider convent accommodations.

I don't even think rooms for 5 exist. Rooms for for are tough. You'll have to go for a triple and double. At $200 per room, you can find something, but $200 total for 2 rooms (and at least 1 is a triple) seems impossible.

I just posted about this place on another thread, and there are other convent accommodations in the same range:

You would need two 74-Euro twin rooms, plus a 47-Euro single, which puts you under 200 Euros. These are ensuite. It's not really central, but it is convenient to the Vatican.

Did you look at the listings on sleepinitaly? There is an apartment in the Prati area (10 minute walk to the Vatican) with 6 beds, (four bedrooms) two bathrooms, really looks very nice and tops out at 200 euro per night for 6 people. It even has air conditioning.

Neopolitan,

That apt. is a one-mile plus walk to the Vatican, maybe for you but that's not 10 minutes for me...

Thanks to all and Neo. The apartment looks really great. We don't mind walking.

I have just booked an apt. in Rome through sleepinitaly.com. They were very nice and helpful. 110 euros a night for 2+1 apt. in Campo di Fiore.
