Rome hotel: Sta. Chiara, Due Torri, Locarno, which?
Would appreciate any comments to help us decide among the three, Sta. Chiara, Due Torri, Locarno -- looking for quiet but convenient location to sites, restaurants, etc.
Thanks. |
Good morning Cassandra.
I cannot compare the hotels, as I have only stayed at the Due Torri. That said, I highly recommend the hotel. I love the location, only a short walk to Piazza Navona in one direction and the Pantheon in the other. The rooms were spacious enough and well appointed. We were never bothered by any street or hotel noise. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was the best we had in Italy. Let me know if you have any specific questions. |
Not surprisingly, I recommend the Santa Chiara, but I too have knowledge only of that one.
Location excellent, breakfast excellent, services excellent, room was smallish, but I had a single so perhaps not comparable. I would happily stay there again, but that's not to say that I wouldn't try another in the same area. There is more than one great little hotel in Rome. Buon viaggio |
Due Torri.
On one of our last-minute getaways, my wife chanced upon this small, charming and well-tucked hotel in Centro Historico area; and just like an earlier responder wrote - the location is excellent. Very friendly staff, too. |
HI--another vote for the Santa Chiara--if you do a search on these hotels in the search function bar, you will find a lot of info. What I loved about this hotel was the great location coupled w/the fact that it is on a tiny side street, therefore limiting the car traffic.

We stayed at the Santa Chiara three years ago and were very satisfied. The location is terrific, the staff friendly and helpful, included breakfast above average and our room was quite comfortable. The only downside was the shower which was the size of a small phone booth, but we managed. Would definitely stay there again.

Another thumbs up for the Due Torri. Loved in in 2001, for all the reasons stated above, plus the sumptuous breakfast (included).

Ditto the Due Torri. We liked it a lot in 2002. That said, we are considering the Portoghesi for our stay in June. It is a block from the Due Torri and there are those who like it better. And it is 180E per night compared to Due Torri's 190E. Still haven't decided, though!
