Rome Hotel Recommendations

Plans are really coming together but getting batty over where to stay to see main attractions in short time (2 days). I would like economical, clean suggestions and they are so appreciated! Thanks

How do you expect anyone to respond when you don't specify your criteria, such as price limits, preferred location, etc, etc? Your question is too general.

I am very sorry readers. I said economical because I am not quite sure of the range. I'll say not more than $100/night. The transportation systems sound good so it doesn't sound like I'd need to be on top of attractions and I was looking for your recommendations.

The Residence San Pantaleo is a small hotel right in the heart of the old city, just steps from the Campo di Fiore - fabulous location. It's very basic, but clean. Some of the rooms are tiny, others are huge. We payed about $100 a night for a double.

Not sure when you're going but you might check the rates at hotelspringhouse.com

VERY convenient to the Vatican, but in a neighborhood where you'll have long walks or a short metro right to other attractions. Nice neighborhood with a few restaurant choices nearby and good helpful staff/ & bicycles available.
