Rome Hotel Recommendations
 

Any advice - Rome in early November. Looking for great location, clean, etc. <BR>TIA

Price range? <BR>Try a search also. <BR>Type in some "key" words, <BR>such as <BR>Hotels in Rome, or Rome Hotels, <BR>in the <BR>TEXT SEARCH box at top of forum page, and wait while it loads. <BR> <BR>If you are lucky, it will pull up endless threads on the hotels. <BR>this will give you someplace to start. <BR>But, letting people know price range will be very helpful too. :-)

forgot; <BR>we really enjoyed the del Senato , on the Piazza della rotunda. <BR>the hotel looks right out onto the Pantheon! <BR>We paid 390.000 L/ night for a double (front-corner room) <BR>Definitely was worth it! <BR>and since you are going in November it should be cheaper. <BR>But, this is only one of many that people have stayed in and enjoyed. <BR>

As to location - the most central and pleasant areas are near Piazza Navona & Pantheon or near the Spanish Steps. Via Veneto is upscale but very wide bustling boulevard and less character than the above two areas. Avoid the area near the Termini train station as it is somewhat seedy.

I know I sound like a broken record but I always recommend the Hotel Due Torri in Rome. Its located between the Piazza Navona and Spanish Steps. The hotel is clean, has modern baths, a friendly staff and is located on a quiet street (that's important). A nice continental breakfast is included in the rates. Stayed this summer at both Hotel Ranieri and Hotel Venezia in Rome; both were great: comfortable, clean, helpful staff, well-located. Hotel Ranieri is slightly more centrally located; Venezia is near Termini Station and is decorated with beautiful antiques. Both slightly less than $150.
