Finalizing Honeymoon Plans: Because of this site, I have finally received the following quotes for hotels in and around Rome, please comment. These are for a double room with a private bath/shower from November 8 to November 13

1. Hotel Alpi - 135Eu standard
2. Hotel Santa Maria - 145Eu
3. Hotel Villa Del Parco - 122Eu
4. Residenza Zanardelli - 115Eu
5. Hotel Navona - 140 Eu
6. Hotel San Carlo - 160 Eu
7. Hotel Parlamento - 125 Eu
8. Hotel La Rovere - 125 Eu
9. Hotel Dei Consoli - 165 Eu

Also, if you have any suggestions of other hotels around the 150 Eu mark, please list them.

Ingrid,The only Hotel that I know from your list is Hotel parlamento...I go there everytime that I visit Rome.
The location is excellent, the place is very clean, modern bathroom and the staff is friendly...
Before the Parlamento, I used to stay at the Scalinata di Spagna,
Piazza Trinita dei Monti, it was decent and great location also..

I can tell you about the Hotel San Carlo next week. I am heading there in 2 days...I did lotsa research and feel confident with choosing the San Carlo...

We stayed at Residenza Zanardelli (www.hotelnavona) in April and loved it. The location is great and within walking distance of sights, (Vatican 10 minutes) restaurants and shopping. Piazza Navona is great in the evenings.

We just stayed at the Hotel Scalinata last week for our honeymoon. It was 220 Euro for a room with a terrace and a bath/shower combo. It was immaculately clean and right at the top of the Spanish Steps. Also as an added bonus, unbelievably romantic. The rate included a very nice breakfast. I believe the rate is lower your time of year. The hotel was very central to everything, as a matter of fact there was a metro stop very close. This saved us a lot in taxi fares.

Just for the heck of it I looked at some of the reviews for these places on tripadvisor.com. You should probably take a look. Some are pretty bad, some are pretty good. Just put int he name of the hotel where it says Search for (your destination). Then click on the choice for Rome.

We have stayed at both the Zanardelli and the Parlemento. The room at the Parlamento was roomy and had a lovely terrace and the staff were helpful and friendly. The location was good, but not as good as the Zanardelli. The Zanardelli has a great location but our room was small and very noisy as it was right over the street leading out of the Piazza Navonna. The staff were less helpful, though we paid more than you were quoted. That was last year in February, so you would be getting a good rate there.

you could try to priceline a room. go to biddingfortravel.com and look at the Italy hotels section...you may be able to get a 5* for the same price. people routinely get a 5* for $170-210...not much different than what you're looking at now.
