Rome Hotel...HELP

When looking at hotels online for our family of four for Rome, I stumbled upon the Kolbe Hotel near the Forum. It seems modern, and I can get a minisuite that would fit all of us for a good rate.

Has anyone heard anything about this hotel (after its renovation), or do you know of any good hotels for 4 people that are reasonably priced? Anything is appreciated.

For a family of four I would recommend thinking about an apartment rental. I think you would find you get much better value for money that way than with two hotel rooms

I saw apartments...but I am a bit unwilling to rent unless there are significant savings, as hotel amenities are a major plus.

Also, I'm not looking for two hotel rooms, but a hotel that has quad rooms. (The Kolbe has a minisuite for US$300)

Recent reviews of the Kolbe at Tripadvisor.com are very positive.

The Trip Advisor reviews for the hotel after renovation are certainly positive and including one that says the street is "quite" (sic). The rate you found seems very good. I don't think an apartment would be significantly cheaper--although you could find a lot of apartment options in that price range. The location is pretty good and of course especially convenient to the Forum/Colosseum/Palatine area.

I know many people prefer hotels to apartments and it looks as though you found a good family option
