Hi

Have you tried www.venere.com? www.bedandbreakfast.com? www.studentsville.it/bedandbreakfast.htm?

Years we used to stay at the Hotel Trinita dei Monti,Via Sistina 91, great location, also Hotel Parlamento, a little more economic is a good hotel for the price.Lately is my favourite place to stay...Good location, off via delCorso, clean, safe and the people that run it are very friendly, family style.style..

John: Also try the site Romeby.com. They have quite a good selection of both B&Bs and hotels of different star ratings. There is a cancellation fee should that become necessary, but it would seem that you aren't about to be cancelling a reservation at this point in time. I used them to book a hotel in Rome and was happy with the site. Good Luck

Try Hotel Corot, right near Termini Station. Some friends of mine stayed there and they found it good. Plus it is a few steps from the station and buses, and taxis. Here is their web site:

Also try this website: Sleepingintaly.com Has lots of listings for B&B's.

Good luck!

I am also trying hard to find a hotel in Rome. We're only staying one night and would like something close to the airport. We're leaving in the afternoon the following day to Venice. I would like to contact Hotel Ceruo in Casa Nuove but there is no website for them. Does anyone have contact info?? If anyone has other places that would be great. BTW what is there to do in Milan???

I have reservations at Hotel Alimandi for a triple room at $170 euros. For two it has to be less. Includes breakfast and shuttle service to and from FCO. ( not Sundays) www. alimandi.org. Good luck.

If you're looking for a place to sleep
with a super location try Hotel Smeraldo. Walk to Piazza Navone, Pantheon, Campo D'Fioro, etc. http://www.smeraldoroma.com/ Good luck.

We also have reservations at Hotel Alimandi. It is right near the Vatican. Our double is 150 euros.

lvitaly - we will be there on the10th. When will you be there?

Smeraldo has received a number of fairly unfavorable comments here this year.

PhilF24 Sep 2nd, 2003 09:03 PM

Some comments are proof that one man's palace is another man's doghouse. The doghouse I am referring to is the Hotel Smeraldo, fully equipped with shoebox size rooms, incessant street noise, surly staff, and a dismal hotel experience overall. Oh, you will save $$$ by staying here, but in this case, you get what you pay for.

We have stayed at the Hotel Regno, Mecenate Palace Hotel, and Residenza Farnese in recent trips to Rome, and all of these would be good choices in the moderate price range.

Hi John, I know you are getting many responses and here are a few more. Hope everything works out for the better. www.guestinitaly.com www.cross-pollinate.com and also www.the-beehive.com

Have fun, Eileen

We stayed at the Hotel Regina Baglioni, and I believe it was near the American Embassy and not too far away from the train station. We loved staying in this area....it was convenient to walk to restaurants and bars at night, plus it is near the Villa Borghese park, and not too far of a walk to the Spanish steps. Plus the hotel itself is fabulous.

JMPHILLY-
No- we will be there only for one night on Oct.5th.( The Alimandi) We will have already been in Rome Sept. 24-29 then off to Sicily and then for one more night before we fly out.Just wanted one more dinner in Rome!!!

Phil - Sorry to hear about your experience at Smeraldo. We were there
over a year ago...recommended from this site...had a great room in the back which was very quiet. At that time all
the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. However, things do change!
