Rome hotel
My husband and 3 kids under 13 are staying for 4 nights in Rome at the beginning of August. We have reservations at the Indigo hotel St. George for 2 rooms(2 bd exec and 1 bd exec) and also the Hotel DOM for 2 rooms.( deluxe room and jr. suite). It is decision time- which one do we pick? Concerns are can we all fit in the beds at the Indigo and that the DOM may be for a younger, hipper, crowd. Your thoughts?
|
Well have you spoken to the staff at the Indigo about the size/configuration of the beds?
And how old are the kids? Is the 2 bed room booked as a triple? Are you getting a double and a single - obviously 2 singles/twins won't work for 3 kids? Assume the room with one double bed will be for the adults. Can't comment on the DOM. |
Sorry - just looked at the Indigo hotel website and they are showing only one choice for 3 people - which is a suite with a bed plus a LR sofa.
I would definitely talk to them about how they are able to handle the 3 kids in one room. |
One of my good friends stayed at Hotel DOM last year with her son and raved about it. She said the rooms and location were excellent. The guests were all ages, so I wouldn't worry about it being too trendy for a young family.

For your family of 5, 2 adults and 3 kids, I would choose the Indigo hotel St. George. The 3rd person would sleep on a sofa bed in one of the 2 rooms. In fact they have some connecting rooms(suites) that might accommodate your family of 5.
When I went to booking.com for the DOM they only offered a crib for an infant as a 3rd person. So booking.com showed that you would need 3 rooms for your family of 5 at the DOM. You might do better by going to booking.com and do the following searches- 1 room, 5 adults; 2 rooms 5 adults; repeat with actual ages of children. Something better may show up. |
Note that the issue is not the age but the size of the children.
Obviously an infant or toddler who can sleep in a roll-in crib is one thing. But assuming the kids all need to be in a regular bed you have to contact the hotel directly to see what options they have for 5 people. |
Using the search function for booking.com requires the age of each child. As does airline seats/prices. Then the search results will give you the options available and costs for a family or group of people. Kids size matters when they want to ride a roller coaster at an amusement park. You can call the hotel direct to verify your findings.
