It would help if you provided a link to web sites - from your post the names of the hotels are not clear. How many different hotels is this?

We stayed at the Smeraldo near Campo Fiori and enjoyed it a lot.

It is a 3-star property located at Vicolo dei Chiodaroli, 9, 00186 Rome, Italy
Phone:+39 06 687 5929

Small rooms, but friendly staff and well located.

I think the locations of the last two would be noisy.

You might want to check out the reviews at TripAdvisor.

Phylle, I have stayed at the JK Place in Florence and it was superb; if their property in Rome is anything like the one in Florence, that would be my choice. Fantastic staff, lovely decor, not very big so you feel like you are in someone's lovely home. Great location.

I have looked at the JKRoma website and read the reviews on Trip Advisor, as it is new there are only nine reviews, 8 are glowing and one is not.

I can't wait for my next trip to Rome to try it out.

All three of these are out of my price range, but on location alone (they are all in the same basic area) I would choose the JK Place property.

It's slightly off the hugely trafficked shopping streets but right in the same neighborhood.

Portrait Suites and Inn at the Spanish Steps are both smack in the middle of the heavily beaten path. If high end shopping is your goal, you'd hardly have to leave your room at either of those.

Totally beside any point here but I fell and broke my arm in front of Bulgari about a year ago. There were hundreds of people around to watch me tumble. Pretty much right at Portrait Suites.

You should check out Virtuoso for free amenities at JK Place and Portrait Suites, all at the same rate.

Haven't stayed at any of these, but can highly recommend my favorite Rome hotel, Albergo Del Senato. It's got one of the best locations for sightseeing in all of Rome, just across a tiny street from The Pantheon, walkable to Piazza Navona, The Trevi Fountain, The Colosseum, etc.

We've stayed in many categories of rooms there, but the suites are a special treat, though they are not often advertised online. ( I e-mail the hotel directly.)

The hotel has a lovely rooftop bar which is perfect for drinks after a day of touring, great staff, and decent breakfast.

I know it's only rated 3-star, but that may be because there's no gym/spa or laundry on site. Anyway, it's a wonderful hotel!

One thing to be aware of with JK Place — 4+ night stays may require a full pre-payment, and the hotel has a very long cancellation deadline, 15 days, with 100% cancellation penalty. The penalty also applies to early departures and reduction of stay. Not exactly the most user-friendly terms … I hope ori can address these issues that can make the hotel difficult to sell.

thank you for the note. there is no minimum stay in Rome, but there is a special opening rate that required a pre-payment. I will double check with my team in Rome and make sure to be more user-friendly. best, Ori
