We've enjoyed the 110 Open - this one:

The Archeobus is worth a look as well, if you've time!

Peter, we are considering the 110 Open as a night tour when we arrive in Rome - staying on the bus for its last run in order to see lights at night. Were you able to see the actual sights very well from the bus? Or were the stops so far away that you could not see anything?

Thanks for your help.

I used the red bus but i think for a small additional fee they upgrade your ticket to both. I used it during the day and at night and loved it. Mainly used it to enjoy the cityscape views and a break from walking all day. The colosseum was beautiful at night.

Do you think we would be able to see enough without getting off? It would be the last run of the day and we would just ride the loop -- does the bus get close enough to see? Thanks for your help.

Carley, that sounds like fun!

You'll see a lot of Rome, some parts better-known than others - but for an idea of how close it goes to specific sites, try the map here....

And here are few photos of, or from, the buses...

Obviously though they can't get along the narrow streets that lead to such attractions as the Trevi or Pantheon, nor into Piazza Navona or the Campo dei Fiori etc - but I think you'll have a great time none the less!
