Rome Guides Needed
We leave June 17 for Rome for 4 nights. We will take our 16 and 11 year olds. We need a guide for the historical stuff. Should we also hire a guide for Vatican? We prefer private guide but are group guides just as good? Please help ASAP!!! Thanks!

The highlight of our recent trip to Rome was our guide, Francesca Caruso. We found out after our tour that Rick Steves uses her for his Rome guide. We used her for the Colosseum, Forum and Pantheon, and I wish we had used her for the Vatican also. She was outstandingly accommodating, friendly and knowledgable. I think she'd be great with preteens and teens. Contact her at [email protected]

ContextRome is very highly rated for both Ancient Rome and the Vatican, which I think is also better seen with a guide, unless you are an art historian.
I think their tours are limited to six people.

I used Rome Walks when I was in Rome. I had a private tour of the Vatican and a Twilight Rome Tour (Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, etc.). Fabio was our guide (me and 3 other people) and we enjoyed the tours very much.

We will be using Rich Brunn for 2 tours in late June. Its too late for you, but I'll do a review for everyone else who might be interested: http://www.rome-day-tours.com/Walkin...html#RomeTours
