Rome for Romans?
I am making mid-range plans to move to Rome.
I am wondering if there is a an annual "museum pass" for city dwellers in Rome. For instance, I have a "membership" with the Kimbell Museum in Fort Worth. I pay xx dollars per year and I have free entrance (+1 guest) for every exchibit and discounts at the museum restaurant/bookstore/audio guides. This membership is also good at a number of other "sister" museums. If I am living in Rome, I will probably want to go to local musuems often, including the Vatican Museums. Can anyone give me some insight (websites) that might be useful for a local? Grazie! |
sarge - my first stop might be roninrome.com i think.
you might also try this website - http://en.museiincomuneroma.it/infor...e_prenotazioni I've looked for an annual ticket but didn't find one - you might have more luck. good luck! |

Google "expats in rome" and "expats in Italy" for really helpful websites.

Hi Sarge56 - what fun planning a move to Rome.
Did you end up finalizing your booking at the vrbo apartment on your Apartment Burnout thread? I am thinking about that apartment for our trip. Thanks |
davispeets- I did. But unfortunately had to cancel it last week. I found out that I will be losing my job in first quarter next year. (Hence my plan to take this is a sign, and move to Rome, like I've been wanting to do for a long time.) So, I figured it wasn't prudent to go in October for 3 weeks, and then turn around and move there in March. :)
thanks all. If anyone has any other input, please feel free to add on! Grazie! |
That's is a sign of a door closing and a window opening! What an adventure.

A dream come true. I envy you. I hope you enjoy every moment. I am sorry about your job but thrilled for your new opportunity.

There is a Florence Amici card similar to the one I linked for Rome if you think you will be going there often.
Also, this card might be of value as it gets you discounts for a variety of things (not just in Rome). http://www.lafeltrinelli.it/mediaObj...tiPi%C3%B9.pdf |
annhig and tarquin- thanks for letting me know about Phil and Caroline. I've been reading his blog all day. Terrific!
ky-thanks! |
Not the Florence Tourist Card, but the museum card.
http://www.amicidegliuffizi.it/home.php?ln=en&pg=1 FYI - The Florence museum card is valid on a calendar year, not from when you join. I don't know about the Rome museum card. |
