Rome-Florence train schedule question
I looked at the "fs-on-line.com" web site and easily obtained the schedule for the Rome-Florence trains. However, one thing puzzles me: twice in the afternoon schedule there are two Eurostar trains (they all appear to be nonstop) that leave within 8 minutes of one another, all departing from and arriving at the same stations. (Train 9442 leaves at 14:30 and train 9316 leaves at 14:38. Train 9446 leaves at 16:30 and train 9458 at 16:38.) I clicked all about the web site looking for some explanation but couldn't find one. Anyone have a clue? Many thanks in advance!

I think that it is as simple as supply and demand - - and/or it may have to do something with making connections for onward destinations from Florence.

America West has (or has had at times) flights non-stop from Las Vegas to Columbus about every five minutes around midnight. One goes onward to New York, another to Newark, another to Washington, etc.

Best wishes,

Rex
The 14:38 and 16:38 ES trains are meant to be connections for the 12:21 and 14:21 IC trains out of Naples. These trains arrive at 14:22 and 16:22, respectively, and 8 minutes isn't always enough to switch trains. Note, also, that the odd hours + 30 minutes ES trains out from Rome, are originated in Naples.
