The benefit of this evisa
You do not need to wait inline at airports.
You do not need communication with Consulates.
You do not need to send your passport.
You can pay with your credit or debit card.
The fee is same as what you pay at airport.
For example visa at airport at Turkey is 20 USD for U.S. citizens and evisa isalso same.
The fee isshown after youfill yourpassport info.
To getthis visa
gotothe link
fill the form
pay
and geta print thatsall you need.
very simple.

The wait at visa window at the airport when I entered Istanbul was minimal - a couple of minutes. You have to wait for your luggage anyway.

Our wait was less than minimal - we just got our visa as we
walked by the booth. Easy-peasey.

Same here we just walked up to the counter. It was easy to find and took 10 seconds.

I'd have liked to have this option! I was stuck in a LONG line and was watching the time tick by toward a transfer flight. (I deferred my time in Istanbul until the end of my trip.) Fortunately, the line move quickly enough that I made my flight - but with only minutes to spare.

I saw a LOT of travelers who hadn't realized they needed cash for their visas, so after waiting in long lines, they had to move to the very long line for the ATMs.

Thanks for letting us know, nejat!

I just printed the visa for my wife and I. I am not sure how much time I may save but it is one less step I have to do. Do not use any dash, commas or periods when filling out the form.

This is excellent. This may not be a big deal for US Citizens but for other nationals such as Indians who are eligible for visa on arrival but have to jump through hoops on arrival (go to the police deck, then pay, then desk again etc) this is immensely useful. I was just able to get visas issued online for my family in a matter of minutes.

Quick question. I, US citizen, am headed to Istanbul Wed and just thought of the visa issue. I thought I had read before about getting it at the airport on arrival. So it just slipped my mind. I read about the online application which is great as I have no US cash (I live in Switzerland now) to use at immigration there. But wondered if HarryS or any others who have used the online application can tell me how long it takes for them to respond? Thanks.

Hi godmother, I am a US citizen and I did the online application and I was done in minutes. I filled out a form with all the passport details and got an email, clicked on it and paid $20. Very easy to use interface.

Thanks, jandee, for the reply. I ended up getting 20 bucks from a colleague, so will just get it when I arrive. But good to know for the next trip.

I never stood in a line, just walked straight up the counter and paid the fee, got the visa and on to passport control.
