Rome-first visit

I am planning to fly to Rome for a week visit and am looking for a hotel that is reasonably priced and centrally located so as to walk to as many attractions as possible. I am looking for a clean hotel that is 125.00 or less per night. If you have stayed in a hotel that meets this criteria, please let me know.

For a single? for a double - - at $125 per person? or a double at $125 per room?

Have you looked at www.venere.com/roma ?? - - it can give you availability, by location and by price range.

Best wishes,

Rex
Rex,
Thanks for the information on the web site. We are looking for a double and hope to find a reasonably priced hotel in April or early May.

Why does everyone bring up venere all the time?. It's just a listing that doesn't help discriminate between good places and bad. And that's why the original question was posted.

Because it lets you quickly put together a list of what actually is available, by location and price - - and from that you can comb through what you might like or not like.
We stayed @ the Mercante Palace in July two years ago for about $125. Rack rate is much higher but we got a good deal on Yahoo or expedia. It is very nice. A little out of the way (15-20 minute walk to Trevi Fountain) near the train station. Very clean, great service part of the Golden Tulip chain. Don't know what deals may be available this year

I'm another venere fan...be sure to check out the specials! I got a room that normally goes for $350.00 per night for $170.00 including taxes, service amd a great breakfast nr. the Spanish Steps in march. But act quickly, Rome was crowded even then!
And after you get the listings you can always go to another source to check out the features then go back to Venere to book.

We stayed at a very small but nice hotel last year about a block from Trevi fountain. We walked EVERYWHERE. Perfect location. It was the Hotel White. See website: http://www.whitehotel.com/
