Rome-Chosing between Santa Chiara, Cesari & Del Senato...?? please

I've done some research on the following 3 hotels:
Santa Chaira, Albergo Cesari and Albergo Del Senato. Of these 3 do any have a bathtub? How about a balcony? Both of these things are preferred if possible. (or maybe you have another hotel suggestion) Thank you.

I know the room we had at the del Senato had both a tub and a balony with an incredible view of the pantheon. What a great hotel!

There have been a few people who asked about choosing bet. the Santa Chiara and del Senato recently. Both the Sta. Chiara and Albergo del Senato are in really great locations so either one would be good but del Senato seems to offer balcony rooms. Not too familiar with the Cesari.

I have been to Cesari (1999), and like it a lot. Others have expressed similar experiences here since.

But I don't think there are any rooms with a balcony.

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
my room at the Santa Chiara had a shower and not a tub, but I had asked for a shower. No balconies that I am aware of. In any case, you should inquire about your preferences with the hotels.
I did love the Santa Chiara for its location, its services, its breakfast, and the pleasant ambience.
Stayed at the Santa Chiara last May and loved it. We too (like Elaine) had a shower because we requested it. There are balconies in the hotel, but I can't tell you which rooms have them.

Location is excellent and we felt the included breakfast was better than average.

I stayed at the Cesari and liked it a lot. The location is wonderful, and the staff was very welcoming & helpful. The room we stayed in was small but comfortable, and the bathroom is an excellent modern one with a regular bathtub & shower. I don't believe there are any balconies there, however.

For my own info, do you have current price quotations for the Santa Chiara, Del Senato, and the Cesari?

petlover Mar 10th, 2003 10:07 AM

Go to venere.com for pricing....it will depend on when you're visiting so the prices I have may not be correct for you. Thanks for all the good comments!!

I just booked a triple at Santa Chiara for Euro 230/nite (high season)

We stayed at the Santa Chiara in Nov of 2001. It was clean and the location was fabulous. however, the noise was terrible! Even with the windows closed. You could hear Vespas buzzing down the echoing streets all hours of the day and night.

elaine Mar 11th, 2003 04:55 AM

at the Santa Chiara I had requested a room facing the back and thankfully had no noise at all.

We stayed at the Santa Chiara just 3 weeks ago. The hotel was wonderful! We had what was described to me as a large family room, but was actually a suite. Our room was in the front of the hotel and we did not have any street noise (at least none that kept any of us awake!). This was off season and we paid 240 euros per night. We were originally quoted 270 euros, but I asked for a lower rate and was accomodated! We loved this hotel.
