Rome: Casa Howard and Hotel Tea

Does anyone know of these hotels? I’ve been to their web sites, which look great, especially Casa Howard, but I can’t find any reviews anywhere.
Casa Howard is a B&B near the Spanish Steps, and I think Hotel Tea is farther up past Piazza Barberini. I just wondered if anyone had any reviews. I’m going to Rome on my honeymoon in June 2002 (after a week in Siena at the Hotel Scacciapensieri. I’ve been to Rome before and can’t wait to go back. This site has been invaluable for me!! Thanks everyone!

Casa Howard was featured in a recent issue of Conde Nast Traveler as a good value hotel in Rome. I can't locate the magazine at the moment, but try the Conde Nast Traveler website.

I have stayed at Casa Howard for a week in October. We loved it. It is very small, so make your reservations ASAP. The location is PERFECT!! You will be a couple of blocks from the Spanish Steps, and a couple of blocks from the Fountain Trevi. I got married in Ravello, and spent our honeymoon in Capri and Rome, so if you need any advice on things to do, or romantic spots, just email me. We stayed in the Chinese room, and it was very snug. But I loved the room. You must get the Turkish bath. It's awesome! One of the best showers I have ever had! My sister stayed in the white room one night, and it was quite large. Even though some rooms do not hav ensuite bathrooms, you will get your own private bathroom down the hall. They give you robes, and slippers, I felt totally comfortable, like it was my own home. The breakfast in the am is good. They have a fridge will cold soda, beer, and champagne that you can purchase on the honor system. Plus you can bring your own champagne and they will chill it for you. Casa Howard is a definate must for your honeymoon. It's a good price for what you get. I hope this helps. Carey

Topping for Alice. The search function seems to have stopped working again.

Dear Alice,

I would definately choose Casa Howard over Hotel Tea if only for it's location. Past Piazza Barberini is not as central or as nice as being right near the Spanish Steps.
If you have trouble getting into Casa Howard you might to try one of these 2 hotels.
Hotel Teatro di Pompeo (near Campo di Fiori) Largo del Pallaro 8, 00186 Roma Phone 06 687 2812 Fax 06 6880 5531 (sits on top of the ancient Theatre of Pompey)
A nice luxury hotel is Sole Al Pantheon at Via del Pantheon 63, 00186 Roma Phone 06 6780 4441 this is a small hotel that has been charmingly renovated quite recently.

If you are interested while you are in Rome I am a tour guide here and offer tours of all the main sights of the city including the Vatican, Ancient City (Forums) and all the lovely things around the historical centre such as Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Hadrian's Temple, Pantheon and Campidoglio.

I cover not just the fascinating history of these places but give you all the wonderful stories and legends behind them.
If you would like any extra information on the tours feel free to email me at:
[email protected]

Have a wonderful wedding and you have made a great choice honeymooning in bella Roma!!
