Rome: Carta Integrata Settimanale

Hi...

Is the weekly metro-bus pass (Carta Integrata Settimanale) good for 7 days starting the day you buy it (or the day you first use it), or is it like the Paris Carte Orange that always goes from Monday to Sunday?

Thanks.

It's good for 7 days starting the day you first use it.

Are you sure you want - need - a 7-day pass? At 16 Euro, you'd have to use it at least twice on 5 days and 3 times each on 2 days to make it pay for itself. The center of Rome is eminently walkable. The last time I spent a week there I bought and used a total of 6 1-Euro, 1-trip tickets.

I found that it just barely paid for itself (over 6 days), but it was still worthwhile. This was with using it to go to/from the hotel, and going to Trastevere, Gianicolo, 3x to St. Peter's/Vatican, the Colosseum, and St. John in Laterano.

In case I wasn't clear above, I meant using the pass to go to/from the train station to the hotel, in addition to all the other destinations I used it for.

Thanks for the info.

I understand that the break-even point might not be reached, but as long as its close, I like the convenience factor.

To me, even if it costs me a couple of extra Euros for the week, it's nice to be able to hop on and hop off a bus after a tired day of walking. (Also, my travel experience is that I tend to forget things -- maps, camera, directions, jacket, etc. -- from time to time and have to run back to the hotel to pick them up.)
