Rome Car Rental Pick-Up Question

Hi,
Has anyone ever rented a car from the Rome city office at Via Ludovisi 38. I'm not sure what rental company that will be. I'm making a reservation through Kemwel and I'm wondering if this location is easy to get to the highway from. We'll be driving up to Siena from Rome on a Sunday. Thanks for your help!

Are you going directly to Siena? If so, you might want to take the Sena bus (5€) and rent a car there.

I am also interested in renting a car to travel to Tuscany. How long is the bus ride to Siena from Rome? Is it easier to go by train? and is the car rental within walking distance of either bus or train terminal to then get a car?

Yipes! Going out of town on a Sunday could get you in a lot of traffic, since you'll be moving along with all the Italians going out to the country. Check out trenitalia.it for schedules to Siena, or ask kybourbon for info on the bus, but avoid doing it yourself unless you like the slow go and getting lost, etc. Getting lost in the area of Siena can be fun if you have time, but to get to various places and to be able to see things, let someone else do the driving. Via Ludovisi wouldn't be a problem for exiting town, it's a cross street of Via Veneto, and only a full blown rental company could afford the rent!

The bus will take about 3 hours.

Hi,
Thanks for the info about the bus. I went to the Sena website and I can't read Italian very well, but it seems to give me a total cost of 36 euro, instead of 10 or so euro. Any idea I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I think you have to get the Sena card to get the discount. There is e-mail (and phone) contact info on the website so e-mail them. The bus leaves from Tiburtina (not Termini, but a few metro stops away) and drops at Piazza Gramsci in Siena.
