Rome Budget Hotels

Looking for a well-located budget gem in Central Rome -- (pref. near span. steps, trevi fount., collosm) Would like to keep it around 100 Euros or less. Any ideas? Help!

I have stayed at Pensione Panda on Via della Croce, a block or two from the Piazza Spagna. The tariff is usually under 100 euro for a double. They have a website. Last spring I stayed at Pensione Paradiso (directed by Panda because they were full). 32 euro per night single with bath next door. Located a half block from the Lepanto Metro stop. Both are modest but clean.

I tried the Panda over a month ago and they are booked for September. I have a nice room at the San Carlo in September for under E100.

I stayed at the Hotel Picasso in February. It was around 45 euros/night. It's centrally located - 10 min walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi, Pantheon, Piazza Navona. It's also a short walk to the bus stop.

I second the recommendation of the Panda. Given its location, it's a great value for the money.

One block from the south end of Piazza Navona are two places with rooms in your price range on different floors in the same building: Hotel Primavera (we stayed there and loved it) & Residenza San Pantaleo.

Thanks. Keep the suggestions coming though...

Hotel Forte, about 120 Euros, includes breakfast, very close to Piazza de Spagna train stop.
