Rome - Borghese: Picnic? Wine?
Even though technically (legally) one isn't supposed to drink alcohol in public parks in Paris, one does it anyway with no ill effects.
How is the picnic-with-wine climate in the Villa Borghese? In many other posts, it is often recommended as a good place for a picnic. Will we be vilified if seen sipping wine or beer? Can one rest on the grass or is that a no-no? Thank you for your tips. (p.s. I'm mostly interested in Borghese b/c our hotel isn't too far from it). |
topping for the weekday crew..

Topping again because I'm very interested in the answer.

The Parc Borghese is a wonderful place to picnic. Lots of people were resting on the grass eating our lunch and sipping drinks when we were there and we joined in with a picnic of our own while waiting for our museum tour time. There shouldn't be a problem unless you get loud and obnoxious when you drink.
The only thing we had to watch out for was the two young lovers under a tree on a blanket on the grass. :) |
Do you mean, you had "to watch" or "watch out for"..? hahhha
I'm less obnoxious when I drink so I think we'll be ok then. |
