Rome booked solid...need some help
Sorry if this has been posted twice but I've been having problems connecting. It seems May will be hopping in Rome. Just tried to book the Ponte Sisto, Cesari, Teatro de Pompeii, Due Torri and Residenza Canali hotels but all are full. There is still availabilty at the Residenza Farnese and the Del Senato. Both are about 240 Euros per night. Which would you choose. Thanks!

Hi
The del Senato has gotten good reviews. Try a text search here. |
I tried to respond to your other post a couple of hrs ago and it disappeared after I clicked-on to 'Post a Reply'?
What I wanted to ask is, Are you using an online booking service? Or asking the hotels directly? I ask because a while ago on another forum a woman in the hotel business in Italy I believe said. That the hotel allots so many rooms to these booking services for a set rate. But not all the rooms, which I believe they hold knowing that they are going to be able to book them at a higher rate. So a booking service will sometimes show these hotels as full when actually they are not. Well Good-Luck! Regards, Walter |

Both are very good. If you prefer quiet and less crowds then go with Res. Farnese.

Thanks to all for the advice. ParadiseLost, the del Senato rate is directly from the hotel. The Residenza Farnese is from Venere.com, they don't seem to have their own independent website.

Try the Alistair Sawday website <sawdays.co.uk> for places. I've used them many times and have always been happy. Sometimes he has B&B's and sometimes he has hotels - depending on the location.
