Some more bits and pieces:
I have added more photographs, and rearranged them so that they follow the narrative of the report (Guaranteed no pictures of blisters!) http://tinyurl.com/dykdwsc

I am just getting used to having an efficient smart phone, and one of the things I used it for was making hasty notes while on buses etc about anything that caught my eye. Most I have written about, but there are a few that I must comment on.

One day on the metro, the adjoining carriages seemed absolutely full of motorcyclists in Harley Davidson gear. They all got off at the Spagna stop near the Spanish Steps. Why would motorcyclists go anywhere as a group by metro???

On the metro (and some buses) there was a constant loop of "Moby TV" - mostly adverts but interspersed with funny animal videos and a great short cartoon called "Rubicchio" - worth looking up on Youtube - silly, but grows on you.

A couple of religion related points, no offence intended:

The "good looking Priest" Calandar .... Why - and why would this be any different to a Beautiful Nun Calandar that would presumably cause outrage??

A Nun in San Giovanni Basilica takes a nexus tablet out of here designer handbag and proceeds to take videos of the inside of the church. It seemed rather strange to me.

Gluten free communion wafers. Obviously a good idea on an earthly level, but wouldn't this cause difficulties for the more traditional?

My final note to self: "Renato Zero posters everywhere - look up on youtube at home - is he any good"

I did, he isn't!

willit - the joy of travel is the funny/silly/strange things we see. I still remember the motor-cyclist I came across in a church in Rome - she came in carrying her helmet, knelt down by the statue of a saint, stroked it and wept for about 5 minutes before she left, by which time I was crying too!

I agree about the calendar and the tablet - but that is the beauty of travel.

Great report, willit! I missed it when you first started because it wasn't tagged. Glad to have found it.
