Rome-Best way to get from train station to hotel

We will be arriving by train in Rome from Sorrento (or Naples) around 4:00 in the afternoon on a Thursday. What are our options and costs to get to the Albergo Del Senato (next to the Pantheon)?
Thank you!

Taxi would cost you around 10-12 euro (more in heavy traffic) and is probably the best way. There is no convenient metro stop and buses are inconvenient with any amount of luggage.

Just outside Stazione Termini (train station), there will many busses and taxi's available.

If you are adventurous, Bus #64 or Bus #40 will get you close (within a block or 2) of Albergo Del Senato. Keep a street map handy, and look for signs for Pantheon. Bus tix can be purchased for 1 euro. I loved the excitement of public transportation.

If you want to play it safer, a taxi will get you there for a much higher cost. Ask the cost before you jump in the cab.

I would take a taxi. Hotel (near Trevi Fountain) to Termini cost us 10 euro recently. If you are travelling extremely light you could walk. Bus/metro fares are 1 euro but I would not do it that way with much stuff to carry because of crowding on board. Perhaps someone with specific knowlege of which bus you would use will know better.

You have only 2 options: A taxi and the 64 or 40 bus.

The 40 is the express; the local 64 is the so-called Pickpocket special.

There is nothing more to be said on the subject, alas.

If it were my choice, I would take the bus out of sheer cussedness.

lol, not sure what cussedness means, but I have to agree that the bus #64 was very crowded and somewhat inconvenient w/luggage. I guess I was less afraid of the picpockets than I was some unregulated taxi operators.

Hi klapenta...we just returned from Rome where we stayed by the Pantheon on Via dei Pastini. From my viewpoint a taxi is really the best way to go. Be sure to line up at the Taxi stand queue and do not...repeat...do not go with the fellow who is asking you if you want the taxi...they are the unregulated. You want to go with the white taxis with a seal on the door. Good luck...you will LOVE Rome. Especially the Pantheon area. We had cappuchino every morning at Tazo d'Oro. Enjoy!

cussedness = stubbornness; but also contrariness.
