Rome Apartment Recommendation?

I've looked at a number of Search results about apartments in Rome and I've looked at sleepinitaly.com, vrbo.com, etc. But, selecting one is still difficult. So, I was wondering if anyone has stayed in one that is what I need and would recommend it. Here are some details!

2 sisters ages 60 and 63 -- walking is not a problem!
Week (or longer) stay
Would make due with a 1-bedroom, 2 if reasonable would be better, of course
Close to major sites and restaurants
$150/200/night
Location: seems like people recommend Navona area and seems nice to me.
Would be late September/early October
Loved lacigaleparis.com apartment (smaller one), if that's any help!

Thank you in advance for ny specific apartment recommendations!

Go to slowtrav.com and look at the apt reviews for Rome.

I recently stayed in the via di Panico apartment thru sleepinitaly.com and enjoyed it. The location was nice (quiet, yet not far from the sights) and it was feasible for three of us (older mom and two sisters). It also had an elevator and a pretty good restaurant right outside the door, which was convenient for those nights we didn't want to venture far to eat.

There are reviews for it at slowtrav.com and we paid 140 euro per night for three. It would be less for two. It was about a five or so minute walk to Piazza Navona.

Bear in mind that it was a bit smaller than it seemed in the sleepinitaly.com photos, but it worked out fine for us.

Just a suggestion.

wliwl, Thank you. I have looked at this site and have read some reviews.

Statia, Thank you too. Your recommendation is exactly what I am looking for -- real and recent experience!

Anyone else??

Thanks,

Celiaanne:

We stayed in a two bedroom that I would recommend woth two caveats: One is that the second bedroom is a loft, meaning rather short ceiling and sort of steep steps up to it. Two is it is in a fairly noisy area - I slept in ear plugs when the windows were open. With them closed it was fine.

It is in a great location (Campo de Fiori) and includes free pick up and drop off at the airport. It is quite large. Here is the link to my review of it, and I have more photos if you want them:

wliwl,

Thank you for your reply. I would love to see your pictures! For some reason, the link in your message isn't working. I'll try again later; sometimes it's just a temporary thing. My address is: setdance at yahoo.com

Does the loft have REALLY low ceilings? I'm a little clostraphobic. I usually sleep with earplugs, so the noise shouldn't bother me and my sister can sleep through anything!

Celianne, I sent you an email. -Cindy

www.apartment-saint-peters.com has just the one suite and is run by the owner who is a very friendly Roman lady. The street is quiet and safe, and an easy walk from St Peters, the Vatican Museums and the metro stations. It's possible for one of you to sleep on a large fold-out bed in the living room of the suite.

constant, Thank you for the link. The suite looks very nice and is very reasonable! We would like to have a kitchen though -- nothing fancy as we will not be "cooking," but we like having a fridge, etc.

Thanks again for the info.

Anyone else have any recommendations?

I'm sure that Piera, the owner, will let you use the kitchen - certianly the fridge - she's extremely friendly and anxious to provide for her guests' needs.
