Pepper_von_snoot - well, you're right, these are probably my own shortcomings. Ceramics just don't interest me for some reason. The only della Robbia works I've seen that I find great are the choir lofts in the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Florence.

And similarly the Colosseum. It's just what I expected, doesn't impress me god knows why. I prefer San Clemente which is close by, or any number of other Roman wonders. Something amiss with me no doubt... perhaps it's that turnip truck you mention.
