Rome and then Sorrento
Hi all! I'm new to this website so apologies if someone has asked this question previously!
Myself and my fiance would like to go to Rome for our honeymoon for 7 nights and then onto Sorrento for 7 nights.
Has anyone done this multi trip before, if so, who did you use and where did you stay etc?
We are looking at end of May 2011 for no longer than 2 weeks
We would like hotels to be at least 3 star but hoping for 4 star recommedations, our budget is between 3-4k?
We want to see all the sites in Rome so would like hotel that is central. In Sorrento we want it be the nice relaxed part of the honeymoon and would like to go to Pompeii and Mt Versuvius
Please let me know if you have done something similar etc as would really help us!!
Many thanks!

I suggest you consult TripAdvisor and/or some guide books to get an idea of which areas and what price range you are considering. Star ratings in Europe are NOT the equivalent of star ratings in the US. People could help more if you provide some guidance about your wants/needs AND show that you have done at least SOME research yourself. That said, Sorrento is a perfect town as base to explore the Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, Capri and Positano. We stayed at Settimo Cielo and the views were increadible.

Here are some Rome hotels to consider. With those destinations, I would start on the AC and end in Rome--perhaps even fly into Naples to start. I would also look at apt. rentals in Sorrento at www.summerinitaly.com--look at the Villa Azura C for a great location.
