Rome and Florence

My mother and I are planning on traveling to Rome and Florence in May. We have been looking into Hotels to stay at.

I have heard that the Olympic is a good hotel in Rome. Can anyone recommend any other reasonable priced locations in Rome to stay?

As I said earlier, we are also going to Florence. Are there any reasonable hotels in Florence that anyone can recommend. I have looked into the Hotel Pendini, is this a good place to stay?

Try the Hotel Lombardi. Several people from this board have used this hotel. It's been a few years since I was there, but, I liked the hotel very much. Ask Dominec for a room with a balcony.
There is a website. Do a search on google and you should find them.
Reserve now. Florence fills up quickly.

For Rome, did you try Venere.com ? I have had great luck with their service.

Have a wonderful trip!

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Pendini last April. It was really nice. The room was huge. We had a triple. Outside our door was an amazing Piazza di Republica. It was so close to everything. My 7 year old daughter never got tired. I can't recommend it enough.

In terms of Rome, we stayed near the Spanish steps which was a great location. I will try to find the name of the hotel. It was very reasonable, and very close.

Try the Hotel Casci in Florence. It's nice, clean, centrally located, and reasonable. It's been highly recommended here, so we stayed there last year, and we were not disappointed. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews abou the Pendini - some good, some REALLY bad.

Visited Rome & Florence last spring, and stayed at the Pendini in Florence. Our first room was tiny and infested with ants. However, after we complained, we were moved to a lovely room--large, quiet, and with a sideways view of the Pza. de Repubblica. In the end, would recommend it. Be sure to walk about a block down the arcade to the Grotta Guelfa restaurant--one of our faves from the entire trip. Enjoy.
