Rome airport to hotel - what's the best way?

What's the best way to get from the Rome airport to our hotel? We are staying at the Albergo del Senato. They will send a shuttle for 85 euros for four people. Are there more reasonably priced options?

We used Rome Shuttle (www.romeshuttle.com) and I believe it was about 40USD. A driver met us outside customs and took us to the hotel in a clean, older Mercedes.

ditto. We went Hotel to Airport. Clean easy professional. 4 people could be a little tight with a lot of luggage.

Joan- I used a car service that has a website--www.limoservice.com ---email direct to Andrea--
THey meet you in customs just outside of baggage in airport with an english speaking driver and a Mercedes station wagon-so they can hold a lot of luggage-if you feel you have more luggage than will fit in a station wagon, they also have a van that can take you into Roma-
VERY VERY dependable-and honest-
I have used them and so have 4 of my friends--their email is [email protected]

85 Euros sounds way too high..most cabs will run about 40 US Dollars and shuttles about 50 US Dollars...

..but it's well-nigh impossible to find a regular taxi that can transport 4 people plus their luggage.
I used euroservice.com for an airport pickup--perhaps do some price comparisons

Suggest you try Rome Limo
http://limoservicerome.com/
Just used them and they were excellent and reasonably priced.

We took the train from the airport to the Central Terminale then took a licensed cab (look for the line and taxi stand - do not take an unathorized cab) from the station to our hotel. It's a lot less expensive and we had no trouble doing it even though we speak no Italian and were first time visitors. And the cab ride was something else!!! :-)

I used Limo Service Rome just last month. It cost 37 Euros for the 2 of us plus tip. The driver was waiting outside the customs area, and took us to our rented apartment. I highly recommend them!

When you get to Rome, go to the Hotel Reservations desk and ask for a shuttle to your hotel. 8 Euros each for 2.
