Rome Airport to Hotel Transportation
I just got an estimate for car transportation for 2 from FCO airport to our hotel near the Piazza Navona of $60 Euro for early July. Is that reasonable or does anyone have any other recommendations.

Any help.

Good evening, Joanne
Go ahead, this is not that far out of
line and also you will probably be met
at the customs exit and will have someone to handle your baggage. A Taxi
would be in the range of 50 dollars plus
tip..Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..

see later note about Rome Taxis if you
should desire to go that way..rjv

Excerpt from my recent trip report:

Limo service: I highly recommend service run by Franco Cantoni – 065135382, [email protected]. He will transport you in a mid-size black Mercedes, point out sights along the way, humorous and speaks English well. I believe he is also available for day trips to the country side. E40 from Da Vinci to Rome center.

Have fun!

I have heard only great things about Airport Shuttle 1/2 passengers=28.50 Euro,3 passengers=34 Euro,4 =45.50 Euro. Add 11 Euro from airport to downtown hotels. They show up on time and are available 24 hours

I have used and it was very good.

We were over an hour late arriving and the man waited on us, plus the price was cheaper than a cab and easier to do than the train.

We were so impressed we booked our return trip to the airport on the spot for the same price. One less thing to worry about while you are on vacation.

We were very satisfied with Rome Shuttle. The driver met us outside customs and escorted to a clean, older Mercedes sedan. I believe we paid around 40USD.

We were in Rome early May and used from the airport and back.

37 Euros for two. They were waiting for us at the airport and picked us up at our hotel a few minutes early.

They eMailed their phone number a few days in advance in the event of a miscommunication.

They sent a follow-up eMail asking for my opinion and if their service could be improved in any way.

Higly recommended.
We had a nice Mercedes ride from hotal alpi (near termini) to airport a couple days ago for 50 euro (Steve how'd you get it for 40!). It was well worth it. The train is okay on arrival but if you need to cathc a flight then pay the 40, 50, 60 euros because the train can be unpredictable.

Just returned from Italy. Here is what we did. Hotel Reservation Shuttle Service located at FCO. Phone # 06/65958684 or 06/65957874. It is best to pre-book through these numbers. We did not pre-book and the wait was 45 minutes. Transportation provided in 8 passenger van. I felt very comfortable with their driving. Cost: FCO to Historic Center = 10,50 euro/person. Other zones = 12,50 euro/person

I used the Airport Shuttle system to get from Rome to the airport and it was $28.50 euros per person. You MUST book 24 hours in advance so they can arrange a pick up time. I got the information form the Rome tourism bureau, which was very helpful and has lots of information. I will see if I can find my flyer (unless I tossed it). If I cannot find the flyer, try to call the Rome tourist bureau.
