Rome Airport to Florence Airport

We arrive at Terminal B in Rome at 10:55 am via Air France and have an Alitalia connection at 1:10 pm to Florence from Terminal A. What advice can you offer? Will we make our connection and will we be able to check our luggage through?

Thank you.

Thank you. Do you know where we will go through immigration? Will it be in Paris or Rome or Florence?

You're flying US-CDG-FCO-FLR on the same ticket?

You'll go through immigration in Paris. Won't see the bags until FLR and go through customs there.

You will pass immigration procedures as soon as you enter Schengen area, that is, in Paris.

Paris-Rome flight is a sort of "domestic" flight these days, since you are traveling inside the Schengen area, which covers most of Continental Europe and it is basically a customs-free agreement among most of the EU states.

Fortunately the flights are all on one ticket. I am not very happy with the travel agent we have used as she is not very helpful or knowledgeable about European travel - or so it seems to me.

Do you recommend we try to change the flight from Paris to Rome to a later one - we do wind up in Rome for the end of our trip. Can we go Boston to JFK to Florence and then to Rome and return?

Thank you.

There are many many connections on various airlines that you can do:

BOS-xxx-FLR, then
FCO-xxx-BOS

No need to go through JFK, even if you want to stay with Air France as they also fly BOS-CDG. And absolutely no need to go through FCO on your way to FLR.

If you're not fixed on Air France, you have other choices. You can fly NW/KLM via AMS, Lufthansa via FRA or MUC, or Alitalia via Milan.
