Rome Airport Amenities
Hi -
I have 2 questions for you Roman travelers. 1. Are there public pay phones in the Rome airport? 2. When I visited Prague a few years ago there was a hotel reservation board at the Prague airport. It had lists of most of the hotels/pensiones - - with buttons to push next to each allowing the button pusher to have direct access to the hotel/pension. It was such a great idea. We fly stand-by and won't have standing reservations when we get to Rome. I'm wondering if there's anything like this hotel reservation board at the airport in Rome. If not, can you please give me some good ideas for booking a place once we get there? Thanks so much for suggestions. |
Which Rome airport - Ciampino Fiumicino?

Thanks for asking. I guess it could be either one. We will probably fly into London from the States and then catch a stand-by on a European airline taking us into Rome. Would you comment on both airports please?

There arepublic phones in both airports, but you will need to use the correct change. Last time I used a phone, I was able to drop in the money and then dial. I would believe it to be the same now.
I don't know whether those typical tourist accommodation boards are in either airport, but I would be it won't be too hard to find a place to stay unless you are on an extremely limited budget. Good luck. |
Thanks, Wayne, for sharing your info. I'll probably be back to fodor's in a few days with some more questions.

Right after baggage claim there are some info booths at FCO - car, hotels, shuttles. The website for both airports is www.adr.it

Thanks, Kybourbon. That's helpful. Sorry I couldn't respond yesterday. I couldn't access this site.
Do trains run into the city from both airports? Or is there a train from one and buses from the other? |
