Rome Accommodations
My husband and I are traveling to Rome for our 2nd Anniversary in mid September this year. We are planning to spend the last 2 nights of our Italy trip in Rome and were hoping for some accommodation recommendations in the historical part of Rome.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Lina |
How much do you want to spend per night? Any other requirements? Elevator? Private bath? etc. Give us more information, or do a search here for Rome hotels and you'll get a ton of information.
|
Our only requirements are to be walking distance to the spanish steps/pantheon, and to have a bathroom in our room. We would like to keep the price within the 200 Euro - 300 Euro price range.
Thanks! |
Please hurry & make your reservations. Rome tends to "fill up". Check/research the accommodations on this website. We are staying at Hotel Gerber, near the Vatican, should be great. My elderly parents, sis & bro in law are going too. Have a great time, I know you will. But get on going on the reservations.

I meant to say we are going in Sept too. I made my reservations months ago.

We had a wonderful stay at Residanza Canali (http://www.residenzacanali.com/01english.html late last year.
It is neat, clean and very well located. |
Hi Lina
We stayed in Hotel St Carlo, last year. The hotel is right in the vicinity of Spainish Steps. Try to get a room in the main building, all the rooms are ensuited. http://www.hotelsancarloroma.com/hot...-carlo-english |
Hi
Rome is really not that big when you look at the center core where the attractions are located so hotel location is not really that important. But of course, it is nice to stay in the center of it all :d I hope that you will have a lovely trip..my wife and I went to Rome in July a couple of years back and here is my trip report with pictures and links: http://gardkarlsen.com/rome_italy.htm Maybe you can find some useful information there. Get in touch if you have any questions. Regards Gard http://gardkarlsen.com - trip reports and pictures |
Another vote for the Hotel San Carlo! Location is fabulous, very close to the Spanish Steps. Also, the Metro and two cab stands are very close, but it is walkable, definitely, to all the historic sites. Definitely bok ASAP, wherever you stay.

Thanks for all of your suggestions on accommodations. Unfortunately these are booked. Any additional recommendations even if they even go into the 400 Euro range would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You! |
residenza san pantaleo near piazza navona is a very nice bed and breakfast. we stayed there in june and loved it.

I think your budget indicates that you are expecting something a little nicer than some of the recommended small B&Bs, and I expect they will be filled, anyway, as lower priced, centrally located hotels are, in September.
Maybe think about a larger hotel, or check venere.com for your dates. The usual recs are probably full: www.hotelportoghesiroma.com/ www.hotelsantachiara.it/ You could also try Hotel Nazionale Rome a Montecitorio www.nazionaleroma.it/ The Due Torri www.hotelduetorriroma.com and its sister hotel, the Fontenella Borghese http://www.fontanellaborghese.com/ Since most will likely be full, I would also try the TeatroPace33 (no elevator, but pretty nice rooms) www.hotelteatropace.com/ The above are all nice hotels and if they have rooms, are in your price range. They are all in walking distance from the Spanish Steps and Pantheon. More expensive hotels, which I never really check, but are in the right neighborhood are the Hotel Sole al Pantheon www.hotelsolealpantheon.com/ and the Minerve http://luxuryhotels.premierhotels.com/Minerve.html Good luck. |
We will be staying here in September, via del Tritone, near Trevi. Doubles/twins are 170€-ish.

Try to stay near the Spanish Steps-Pierret Palio Bianco is wonderful...and of course, The Hassler can not be beat. Another option would be Hotel Condotti. If nothing else - enjoy a drink at the bar of the wonderful Hassler Hotel.

I feel compelled to warn you off the Hotel Condotti. While the location is tremendous, there are many bad reports on this hotel. It's been about 10 years since I stayed there, but they had us flushing the toilet with our room waste basket that we filled with water. I check on this hotel occasionally, and the reports are often dismal. I'ts a shame because the location is fantastic. Also, I would love to hear what your search leads you to. Please keep us posted. |
