Rome Accomadation
Hi
Would appreciate any suggestions on a nice and trendy hotel in Rome. I would like to be near the ancient sites, cafes and good restaurants. Somewhere in the 250-350 euro range. Doesn't have to be 5-star, but maybe 4-star. Also any suggestions on trendy restaurants and good food. Thanks so much |
del Senato, or Minerve. Neither one is "W", but in Rome, I'm not sure what is.
Trendy restaurants? Elegant is a trend that didn't need to leave, and didn't need to come back. Vivendo in the St. Regis Grand would work for that. Best wishes, Rex |
Hi
the Russie has been in the press a lot. But for location, I'd vote for the del Senato, the Minerve, and the Santa Chiara. The latter is decidedly untrendy. |
Recently stayed at the Lancelot Hotel. It is near the coloseum. It was wonderful. Nice big rooms and nice bathroom and good breakfast. Staff is very nice and helpful. Web site: www.lancelothotel.com
We paid 145 euros/nite. Would definitely stay there again. |

Just got back from four days at the Exedra. It was every bit as good as postings on here indicated. Large very comforatble rooms and very nice staff.
the negative comments I read about the location were very overstated, although it is not right in the centre we walked everywhere. No problems at all at night. |
We enjoyed staying at the Locarno last summer. For your 'trend factor', it is listed in 'Hip Hotels in Italy'.
cheers, CC |
Hi
We stayed at the Santa Chiara last month and it is untrendy. but what a great location, around the corner from the Pantheon and within walking distance of most of the sights. The price range you mention is probably closer to a 3 star hotel. Rome has probably the most expensive hotels I've come acrossin Europe. |
I don't know anything personally, but I seem to recall someone mentioning Exedra - a Boscolo luxury hotel - in this vein.
