Rome

We will be visiting Rome on Jan 27, group of six. Are we better off getting a house/apartment/ any recommendations?
We will be gong for 2 weeks.

Is it cold @ this time?

Thanks!!

You should definitely consider getting an apartment.
Try Sleep In Italy, www.sleepinitaly.com, or Roman Reference, www.romanreference.com.
As for weather, it is winter, and it will be cold in Janurary, but not bitter. Expect temperatures in the upper 30's to upper 40's.
Enjoy!

Hi Anne!
I would definitely explore the possibility of an apartment, as it will probably be more economical and convenient for your group.

Weather-wise your day-time temperatures may get into the upper 50's and even 60 if it's sunny. Nights, however, are much cooler. I brought gloves, a scarf and a good raincoat with a detachable hood and zip-in lining, and it did very well for me.

Buon Viaggio,

Anne,

Campo di Fiori is an excellent area and has a lot of apartments. Other areas to look at are the Piazza Navona area and the Pantheon area. These three areas have the golden combination of being conveniently central and quite charming.

There are other areas near major tourist attractions (such as the spanish steps, prota pia or the collosium) but are not nearly as charming to stay in. Prati (sp) is a nice area but not as convenient, IMO.

I would start you apt. search by looking at look at the Campo di Fiori, Piazza Navona, and Pantheon areas.

Here is one great 2BR, 2BA apartment in a fantastic location. I have used this agency before.
