what to do,???? dont want to miss anything, but, companion trouble walking, suggestions please |
Hi, please be a little more specific on what you are able to do. How far can you walk, stairs etc. and then we may be able to offer some suggestions.
|
Well in only 3 days you will miss a lot.
How much trouble does your companion have walking - since Rome typically involves a lot of it. Typically you could do one day near the Vatican - Vatican Museum, St Peter's and Castel Santangeleo. Then you would spend a day in ancient Rome - Colosseum, Forum, Capitoline Musuem. After that I would spend a day exploring the historic center: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, several of the famous fountains, Spanish Steps - and possibly the Borghese Gallery. There's was more to see - but this at least covers many of the basics. Suggest taxi between sights to save too much walking for your friend. |
Just chiming in to second the taxi suggestion. We traveled last time to Rome with our child, so walked to some sights, and taxied back, and found the taxis to be very reasonable. Enjoy your trip! pp
ps. I stayed at that hotel a few years ago myself, and while it is near the Vatican, for your situation will be too far to walk to many other sites. So again I suggest going for taxis! |
There are HoHo bus tours that stop near the Vatican. You can get 24 and 48 hour tickets (@ $28 for 24 hrs) If the costs work out, you could use them to get around. This is an example:
