Rome 2 bedroom apartment help needed

Hi,

My family of 4 (mom, dad, sister and I) will be in Rome next Friday for 4 days. Instead of getting 2 hotel rooms, we're looking for a 2 bedroom apartment preferably in Campo de Fiori for around 250 Euros a night. I've been scouring slowtrav.com and the forums here non stop and can't find any that fits our needs.

Elevator, 2 bedrooms, allows short stays, in Campo de Fiori, around 250 Euros a night.

Can anyone help with suggestions of places you've stayed at and liked that fits what I'm looking for? Where should I look other than italyperfect and sleepinitaly.com?

Much appreciated for your help!

Check http://www.residenzagiubbonari.com/home.html

We stayed in the blue apartment on the 1st floor (not the ground floor). They are showing the blue, red, and green apts all avail 5/8 to 5/12.

Try this ground floor apartment with a patio, its in San Giovanni, near the Colosseum,: Arcos B&B apartment.

I stayed there on my visit to Rome.
Although it's not 2 bedrooms but 1, the lounge has 2 single sofabeds and its great value for your budget: 150 Euro a night for 4.
This is a family run place and the kitchen is stocked for breakfast.

I find it odd that you cannot find a 2-bedroom apt in Campo de Fiori if willing to pay 250 Euros/night! There should be plenty choices! Minimum stays is typically 3 days so you are covered there; many apts in bldgs. with elevators. I always try to rent DIRECTLY from owners and have been extremely lucky. I used http://www.VRBO.com for my rental apartment in Rome (going in 10 days!). The owner have been great to work with; PayPal makes it a breeze to deal with deposits, etc... I am renting a 2 bedroom apt (3 beds) for 100 Euros/night 2 blocks from Vatican Museums entrance (this is a Vatican-focus trip; visiting relative studying there).

Check Palazzo Olivia, http://www.palazzo-olivia.it/. They're not on the Campo, but well-situated between it and P. Navona. We stayed in one of their apartments for three or four nights in April last year. They have a small elevator.

After a recommendation by a couple of others on this forum I booked at Palazzo Olivia. I haven't been there yet but I can say that Carla the manager is very efficient and helpful and the reviews of the property are very good. Good luck and tell us about your trip when you return!!

I agree with Viajero2 - VRBO is the way to go. I have always had really good luck there.

I would look at RealRome's apartments - go to www.realrome.com. The owner of the agency, Tim, is very good to deal with and if you contact him and let him know what you're looking for, he can send you options. I highly recommend them.

With your trip only a week away, most properties will already be booked. I would contact all the agencies mentioned above and ask them which 2 bedroom apts they have available, and choose from those. Otherwise, you are wasting a lot of time looking at units only to find they aren't available.

Thanks for all of your help!

I've contacted Residenza Giubbonari and waiting to hear back.
