Rome

This message goes out to any guys who find themselves on the Via Veneto and are approached by someone from the CICCA CICCA BOOM CLUB. BEWARE!!!! IT IS A SCAM! My friend and I were taken for $800.00 for cheap wine and champagne just for talking to these girls employed by the place. I still can't believe there is a sign for this place in front of a luxury hotel on the via veneto. That place should be ashamed as should the government of that city for letting such a criminal establishment exist, especially steps away from the Via Veneto. Once again beware of the Cicca Cicca Boom Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such clubs have been running this scam for many years. You aren't the first, - and you won't be the last, unfortunately.

Steve

Well, George, I can see why you're posting anonymously. :-)

We've walked by that corner often. Almost invariably approached by the club's shills. Easy to say, "No", or "Stuff it", or ignore them.

What was it you were expecting in the club? Perhaps like the pro athletes in Atlanta visiting the Gold Club you went there expecting to find delicious buffalo wings? Maybe a lecture on Rome's architectural treasures? Maybe a little free Italian honey? I'd bet on the latter. You sound like a honey lover.

We could understand your confusion if the place were named Mother Theresa's Tea Room. What would one expect in a place called, transliterated into English, "Chicka, Chicka, Boom"? Accent on the final word, please. The shill was wearing a Roman collar and you thought you were going to confession?

Before you ask Rome to close down all such, maybe you ought to check out your hometown (or the city nearest your farm). Or maybe you have already!?

That place has been around for over 2,000 years. Julius Caesar writes about it in his "Commentaries". (See chapter 13, Girls of Gaul.)

He relates that this is where he first learned the phrase, "Vidi, Vinci, Veni". (Often misquoted as, "Veni, Vidi, Vinci" for, "I came, I saw, I conquered". Latin students will understand the difference.)

We could understand your confusion if the place were named Mother Theresa's Tea Room. Sasha, My friend and I thought we were about to see a show. That's what was promised us. Maybe dancers? Have you ever been to
Chippendales? Maybe a strip tease? I admit when I asked the bartender, Quanto Costo? she did not reply , that's when we should have left. Instead as these girls sat next to us the barmaid opened two bottles of wine, one for each of us and two bottles of champagne for the girls and then told us it would be L400,000.00. Admission to the club if it wasn't a scam should have been maybe equivalent to $10.00 or so. But instead we were there under false pretense.
