Romantic Wineries on the way from Florence to Rome
hello,
me and my boyfriend ( we are in our mid 20s), are going to be in Italy in the beginning of june and are going to drive from Florence to Rome ( yes we are driving...we know that its going to be quit difficult blah blah) Does anyone know an amazing romantic winery where we can stay overnight as well as have dinner ( with amazing food) and a wine tour anywhere along the route (from florence to rome). Thank you in advance :) PS: we do not what to take any busses/trains/group tours.... the winery has to be en route to rome |
What about this one outside Montalcino: http://www.castellobanfiilborgo.com/

Jamikins, thats a beautiful castle but its a bit expensive (500/1 night for the cheapest room) thank you though
|
Then, tell us, what is your budget?
|
I would say between 100 to 250 euros for the night.
|
I think you will struggle to find a romantic winery that has rooms and a restaurant with amazing food for €100 - 120 a night. That is pretty budget for the area between Rome and Florence (Tuscany) and wineries in general arent set up like they are in the US. Most are visit by invitation only and cater to large buyers.
|
That budget is low for what you are wanting and many wineries require appointments.
>>>are going to drive from Florence to Rome ( yes we are driving...we know that its going to be quit difficult blah blah)<<< The driving part isn't difficult at all. Avoiding ZTL zones in Florence, Pisa, Rome (yes, Rome is restricted too)so you don't end up with expensive tickets is the hard part. Most of the hill towns have ZTL also, even tiny ones like Pienza. >>>PS: we do not what to take any busses/trains/group tours.... the winery has to be en route to rome <<< How could anyone answer this without knowing what potential route you are planning? There are dozens of roads you could take between the two and cover entirely different areas. |
In that lower price range, you might have more luck looking for your winery, dinner, and place to stay separately?

We loved touring Montevibiano;
www.montevibiano.it It's south of Perugia, and on your way - but I do not think it has a hotel. It's a beautiful estate, very ecological. They have beautiful olive oil too. |
