Romantic setting for second honeymoon
Hi,
Celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in April, and would love a romantic break for upto 7 days, in an idilic setting. Require excellent food, accomodation, somewhere to explore. Considering Rome, but open to ANY suggestions, (would even travel as far as the Maldives etc).looking forward to your replies.

Paris comes to mind & right after that Venice.
Got to go with Venice, but try and find a B&B on one of the smaller islands.
Thanks for all your suggestions!
Got engaged in Paris, adored Venice, & went to Brugges for my 30th. Considering Rome & Marrakesh at the moment, good choice?
I'll stick w/Paris. I certainly don't equate Rome w/romance. Vienna, perhaps. Florence is certainly a better choice than Rome based on your criteria. Budapest also comes to mind ?
Have you been to the Amalfi Coast? We stayed in Positano both times (first was our honeymoon), and to our minds, it is absolutely the most romantic, magical, breathtaking place we've ever been.

And, I see you're a foodie -- even more reason to go, especially if you enjoy seafood.

Happy Anniversary to you both!
Thanks again everyone!
Loved Sienna, Florenece, Lucca & Amalfi coast (all before the children I might add!) Just read a book called 'Italian affair' and she stayed on Iscia ? nr Isle of Capri sounded lovely. We did a 3 week trip around europe years ago, and loved the Italian lakes, but I hate to revisit the past. Didn't like Prague, but quiet fancy Budapest...would love your views on Marrakesh.....
If you missed Rome on your Italy trip, I'd suggest you keep it in mind...but I've never been to Marrakesh either, and that might be wonderful. (I know you could eat wonderfully in Roma...)
Another vote for Positano, and Capri. I can't think of a more spectacular place to celebrate than that part of Italy. You'll certainly never forget it! Congratulations and have a great time!
Thank you all. Settled on Marrakesh in the end, in a riad which comes highly recommended, The owners have been so helpful. Simply can't wait. I'll report back!
Is this trip before or after your trip to Venice for hubbies 40th?
One of the most romantic places is Prague, the Charles Bridge at night. Florence is a good choice--after all, that is where Elizabeth ("How Do I Love Thee") Barrett and Robert Browning lived until her death.
Budapest is interesting as is Vienna.

It's all or nothing!
Yes it is our 15th wedding Anniversary in April, hence the romantic second honeymoon (which is booked for Marrakesh for a week) then it's his 40th birthday a week later, with friends staying the weekend, but I couldn't let his day pass without it being special (as it's mid week) so I have just booked a flight to Paris so we stay overnight & now need special hotel for the night. I had wanted to go back to Venice but the flight times didn't allow us long enough time. For someone who doesn't get out much, it's all come at once!
So suggestions for Paris are gladly welcomed,hotels/restaurants etc....it's been 15 years since we were there last.
