Romantic Road - Where do I stay?
 

Hi everyone-

I am staying one night in Rothenberg and have a free day while I travel south to Neuschwanstein and stay a night there.

My question to you: Where should I stay on my free day between Rothenberg and Neuschwanstein? Should I travel to Heidelberg and stay the night there? Do you recommend a city that is along the route between Rothenberg and Neuschwanstein?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Munich is a nice overnight stop between Rothenberg and Fussen.
