Romantic restaurants in Lucerne

Can anyone recommend any romantic restaurants for a last dinner in Lucerne? I've heard of the Hotel Montana restaurant, Galliker? Any strong recommedations? Thanks

Hotel Montana is nice and high up with a view - I didn't eat there but the food and atmosphere looked wonderful.

Good morning, aneckc
Have had two most enjoyable dinners in
the italian ristorante PADRINO, which
is located in the HOTEL NATIONAL, just
about a block east of the Seebrucke on
the quai. Richard of LaGrange Park, IL..

Hi aneckc,

Though I was dining alone, I thought the restaurant Rotes Gatter in the Hotel des Balances was very romantic. They sat me at a table in front of huge picture windows overlooking the river and the picturesque Jesuit Church opposite.

Oh yeah, and the food was great too!

You can look at the restaurant at the hotel's website at www.balances.ch.

Best of luck!

I have seen posts recommending the restaurant in the Romantik Hotel Mann (spelling) The hotel itself looks lovely!

I can't believe no one has mentioned the spectacular restaurant at Chateau Gutsch up on the hill. It is perfect for a special night!

Hi- I don't think Galliker is in the Hotel Montana. We remember it as being downtown-ish and maybe a block off the river. We had a really good dinner there, and the atmosphere was lively but I don't recall any particularly "romantic" features, such as views, etc.)

I live din Luyern for three years and here are my suggestions:
Rotes Gatter
The Stube at the Wildemann Hotel (Romantik hotel chain)
Latino
Bam Bou located in The Hotel ( a boutique hotel)-one of my faves
The restaurant on the top of Buergenstock. You can take a boat and then a cog wheel up to the restaurant.

I don't recommend the Gutsch. I think that the food is mediocre and overpriced...but it does have nice gardens!

Enoy!

Good evening, the HOTEL WILDEN MANN
has a very good formal dining room, was once called the "Leidertafel" as well
as the Stube, would assume both come out of the same kitchen, but different
menus. Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..

Sorry guys, but the Hotel Gutsch is closed because the owner is bankrupt. (I live in Lucerne.) But there are many other romantic restaurants...

Wow, how amazing about the Gutsch. I first ate there nearly 30 years ago and it was a magical spot. I was surprised about two years ago when we ventured up the hill and discovered the place had been redone at great expense. No wonder he went bankrupt. Sometimes I wonder why someone can't be happy with a good thing the way it is. Also, what about the Swiss House? I avoided it like the plague for years thinking it must be all tourists, until a client of mine who lives in Lucerne told me it was her favorite place in town. We had a wonderful meal there.
