Romantic Restaurant

I am going to be in Prague for my wife's birthday. We are planning on the opera at 7 & then dinner, so I have 2 questions - How late do restaurants stay open and can anyone recommend a romantic restaurant ? Thanks

Unfortunately, I have not yet been to Prague, and cannot help you.

For future reference (and if you do not get furthre responses here), you will get the most useful replies if you put the city and/or country name in your post title.

I started a thread about romantic restaurants in Prague before I went in December and got lots of good ideas.
I will try to find the post and bring it to the top again.

The cellar restaurant in the hotel we stayed in was very romantic.

Have a great time :)

Here is a link to Angel_UK's thread, which does have quite a few suggestions.

Maybe Lauren will see this. I believe she knows Prague.
Wrossk, post again during the morning.

I don't know how late they serve, or what your budget is, but romantic places I saw recently are
restaurant David
www.restaurant-david.cz
that was about 1550 CZK pp but with a quite expensive bottle of wine

Allegro, in the Four Seasons Hotel, is very expensive but on a par with any of the finest places in Europe. Modern but warm decor, impeccable service.

we were going to go to these places but changed our plans:
Francouzska located in the Obecni Dum (Municipal Housea www.frenchrest.obecnidum.cz
and
Flambee It is a cellar restaurant, traditional for Prague. I've read that if you?re looking for an elegant evening, this is the place. www.flambee.cz

We went to U Modre Ruze - a 15th century wine cellar. Dinner and service were excellent. I don't remember the total bill. The food was very reasonable, it was the wine that was pricey, but you will probably find that everywhere. They have a website: www.umodreruze.cz/

restaurants stay open quite late for the most part...during our visit in november, we ate at a group of restaurants which are very nice...the basic restaurant is Square and it has 3 or 4 brothers and sisters--all with different names...they are all in the central city....square is right on the #23 tram...the sister that we liked the best was hergetova cihelna at cihelna 2b on the island next to the charles bridge...it was excellent and you would love their food... e-mail: [email protected]
have fun

I would recommend Peklo. It is a 12th century wine cellar that has been converted to a restaurant. Ask to sit near the fountain. Bring a sweater--it can be cool in the cellar. Very romantic.

I think a table at Kampa Park Restaurant, by the water, looking at Charles Bridge and across the River toward Old Town would be romantic and pleasant on a warm evening. The food is generally excellent but expensive. Open until 1:30am. See www.kampapark.com/
