Romantic Paris Hotel in the 6th

Hello!

We have decided we would like to stay in the Saint Germain area based on all the wonderful posts on this board and recommendations from friends.

We are looking for a romantic, special hotel for two nights in February. My idea of romance is something cozy and charming or that beautiful elegant old-world French style- I know the two ends of the spectrum. We would like to spend around $300 US a night or less.

Location and romance are important, view and a balcony less important because it will be cold! I am overwhelmed with all the choices. If anyone has a suggestion it would be much appreciated!

Hotel des Saint-Peres
Hotel De Buci
Hotel Pont Royal (7th)
Melia Colbert (5th)

Relais Christine would be perfect, although I'm not sure how their room rates translate these days with the weak dollar.

I think the D'Aubusson's standard room would fit your budget...lovely hotel in a great location.

Hotel Buci, but a standard double is right at your limit - possibly less since it will Feb.

If cozy mean cramped then forget this suggestion, but otherwise Relais St. Germain suits everything you've mentioned. The antique dealer/decorating owners have turned the spacious rooms (most places would call them Jr. Suites) into showcases of decor and dare-I-say-it clutter. Just a half block off the very busy and centrally located Odeon metro stop on St. Germaine.

We always found the D'Angleterre to be romantic, but then again, it might have been Paris or it might have just been us ((L))

Miss Scarlett, I walked past the Angleterre last Monday. They seem to be renovating something. There was a covering over the hotel's exterior. Didn't go inside but the lobby looks the same as usual.

They seem to be offering a buffet breakfast in the rates these days.

Yes! we almost decided to stay there in March, then the apartment idea took over . I have fond memories of that hotel ((F))

Thank you for the quick responses! We will check them out soon.

Also, is anyone familiar with Hotel de Fleurie? From reviews at Frommer's and Tripadvisor it sounds like it matches our criteria. Any opinions?

Thank you!
